Harmony and prosperity are the pillars of a nation. Without harmony, development will be stunted, and without prosperity, all progress are meaningless. Speaking at the Citizenship Certificate Presentation Ceremony at BRIDEX, Jerudong, 3rd December afternoon, the Minister of Home Affairs underlined that a peaceful nation is shaped through shared efforts from all citizens and residents, and not just by the government. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman also emphasised that efforts to preserve peace and prosperity need to be seen as a collective responsibility, and not just the responsibility of the government.

Yang Berhormat added the Wawasan Brunei 2035 is a national aspiration that requires support and active participation from citizens and residents in upholding the government's policy as well as initiative. The community's involvement though community activities, development of mukim and village institutions, and the implementation of welfare projects are vital in expediting the nation's aspiration.

One thousand 361 people received their Citizenship Certificates by the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. Recipients comprised those who applied for citizenship under the Brunei Nationality Act, Chapter 15, and passed the Malay Language written and oral tests. Also present were Members of the Legislative Council.
